Notification of a brief Building Secure at the High School/Middle School

Dear North Bend School District Families and Staff, 

Today, a brief Secure was initiated at both the middle school and high school while the police department evaluated an unconfirmed threat related to the middle school. During a Secure, students remain in their classrooms while normal operations continue inside the building as he threat was being assessed. A Secure is a part of our Standard Response Protocol procedures. 

Law enforcement quickly determined that no threat was present. As a precaution, officers maintained an increased presence around both campuses as the Secure was lifted and students were released.

This situation did not impact the high school’s release time and resulted in approximately a ten-minute delay at the middle school.

We are grateful for the prompt response and clear communication from our local law enforcement partners, which helped ensure the continued safety of our school community.
